Help Us Pass Breakfast After the Bell Before July 31!

July 19, 2018 / Uncategorized

We need your help TODAY!

As the legislative session comes to a close, the Rise and Shine Massachusetts coalition continues to push state lawmakers to pass Breakfast After the Bell legislation (S.2441). The deadline for legislation to be considered is July 31st. As the Senate Ways and Means Committee reviews the bill, it is vital they hear from childhood hunger relief advocates like yourself.

Additionally, the Conference Committee finalized their FY19 budget yesterday, so the Senate Ways and Means budget can focus on legislative priorities for the rest of the session. We need your help to urge them to pass S.2441 and move the legislation to the Senate floor for a vote.

Please join us in telling our legislators that school breakfast is essential to a thriving Commonwealth. When our children are fed, they are ready to learn and to succeed. We must ensure that every student has a nutritious start to their morning.

TAKE ACTION:

  1.  Contact your Senator and have them urge the Senate Ways and Means Committee to favorably report out Breakfast After the Bell legislation (S.2441).
  2. Contact members of the Conference Committee and ask them to take action on Breakfast After the Bell legislation (S.2441).
  3. Share on Facebook and Twitter why #BreakfastAfterTheBell matters and tag your legislator.

The Greater Boston Food Bank is leading the Rise and Shine Massachusetts coalition in support of this legislation. Want more information about Breakfast After the Bell? Read more on Rise and Shine Massachusetts.
